Mission Statement Improve self-sufficiency and holistic health in the Pacific Islands and around the world through innovations in farming and distributed agriculture.
What We Do Ho‘oulu Pacific believes that an affordable, reliable supply of nutritious food is the foundation for a healthy community. We address high rates of obesity, diabetes, and emigration found throughout the Pacific Islands by providing agriculture services and technology.
Our Work Our team has piloted over 80 systems in American Samoa and Hawaii that now produce more than 40 different types of vegetables and fruit, and fish.
The amount of vegetables produced by each system exceeds each family’s needs, and the surplus is aggregated and distributed by our organization. Home farmers feed their families and earn monthly income, and we gain revenue we reinvest to scale our work. And together with our community partners, we provide families with health counseling, nutrition education, and entrepreneurial guidance.
We are excited to announce the next phase of our work. We are deploying larger backyard soilless farming systems in the homes of Waimanalo residents. These new systems enable families to produce 2,000 pounds of vegetables and fish per year.
